With the support of John Scott MSP, Friends of Seafield House (FoSH) mounted an exhibition “Sir William Arrol : World Heritage Legacy” in the Members’ Lobby of the Scottish Parliament from 5-7 January. The exhibition enabled FoSH to bring to the attention of MSPs and Scottish Government Ministers not only Sir William’s important engineering and construction legacy but his career as a Parliamentarian in representing the people of Ayrshire at Westminster. The exhibition also allowed us to highlight our campaign and to show the plans by econstruct for the restoration of the house.

John Scott MSP kindly laid the motion that welcomed the exhibition to the Parliament and was supported by 18 other MSPs:

Motion S4M-15215: John Scott, Ayr, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party, Date Lodged: 17/12/2015

We are grateful to John Scott MSP for giving FoSH this valuable opportunity, which was well received by MSPs and Ministers alike.  We also thank the National Portrait Gallery, RCAHMS and Glasgow City Archives for allowing us to use the images in our exhibitions and on our website. FoSH was also pleased to have permission from That Image Rokz to show its video of Seafield House.
